The Quartz Watchmaker performs service activities on quartz watches to include: full service on quartz movement; quartz movement exchange; perform electronic checks; service movement with cleaning and oiling; install dial and hands; encasing of the movement; mechanical tasks such as case modifications on old/vintage/CPO watches.
Additional activities include: check movement function and timing in the case; check for cleanliness; water resistance testing; install dial and hands on simple automatic and chronograph movements; perform mechanical movement exchange; check movement functions and timing.
He/she will work towards achieving objectives in terms of delivery lead times, repair quality and performance as well as costs. This position requires a high level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts and provide best-in class quality service.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintenance and cleaning of washing machines and mechanical workshop.
Maintenance of tools.
Upkeep of workshop stock (consumables) and component kits.
Order and distribution of components.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects to improve the performance of the workshop as well as the quality of repairs.
Requirements
2-3 year’s Quartz watch repair experience.
Customer Service Watchmaker with WOSTEP, SAWTA, AWCI 21 or similar certification recommended.
High level of dexterity and focus to handle small parts.
Good communication and listening skills.
Highly flexible and team oriented, with superior work ethic.
Good organization skills and attention to detail required.
Ability to remain in a seated position for an extended period of time.
